About Julia Draper
I am a relationally focused therapist with over a decade of experience working with individuals and families navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, and relational conflict. People tend to come to me, who, despite outward success, find themselves feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or quietly dissatisfied.
Whether you are navigating a shift in identity, relationships, parenthood, or career, these moments can bring both opportunity and uncertainty. Many of the individuals I work with are accustomed to managing, performing, and pushing through. In our work, there is an opportunity to step out of those roles, to slow down, gain clarity, and engage with yourself in a more intentional and sustainable way.
My approach is warm, attuned, and grounded in careful listening. I offer a space where clients can thoughtfully explore their internal world, deepen their understanding of longstanding patterns, and begin to shift toward a more integrated and empowering sense of self.
My work is informed by extensive training in psychodynamic, relational, and trauma-informed approaches. I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) that aim to build more immediate tools to address life challenges. I hold a degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University and completed a postgraduate fellowship at WomenCare Counseling Center. I have also served as a clinical supervisor in both community mental health and educational settings.
Because therapy is a deeply personal and collaborative process, finding the right fit is essential. I offer a complimentary 30-minute consultation to provide an opportunity for us to connect and determine whether working together aligns with your needs.
